You Got Blood on my Black Lacey Things.

Blood and Black Lace (1964)

Directed by Mario Bava

Ghoulish greetings my sweet little creatures. Welcome once again to the Repulsion Halloween horror film countdown. I'll be your hostess with the mostess, Mistress Strychnine guiding you through your daily dose of death and dementia. Let's start this one right.

Fashion Kills. Well, okay fashion itself doesn't kill but some shady jerk without a face seems to think so. Fashion models seem to be dropping like flies and I wouldn't trust no man wearing black leather gloves and no face.

The film is steeped in stylish color and creepy 60s Italian atmosphere. If the killer isn't somehow stopped, there won't be any fashion models left in Rome.

Even if you don't care for Giallo films (your loss) you should watch this for how pretty it is and look at the amazing fashion and giant gorgeous hairdos.

Doesn't this guy look shady as hell? I mean, common, he's wearing a fedora. He either wants to call you milady and buy you a frappachino or he wants to stab you with a knife while bathed in neon. Either way, bad man.

Watch Blood and Black Lace with me tonight. Streamable on Shudder, Amazon, Google, Youtube, and whatever other mega-stream stuff is out there. I'll bring the popcorn. Just kidding. I'm not capable of being in more than one place at a time and my couch is too comfy to leave. But I will be there in spirit. Or at least probably someone's spirit will be with you. xoxo
